Turbo Overview

The KC Jetfire Stage 2 (64/66) turbo is an excellent upgrade for 2003–2007 Powerstroke 6.0L trucks running stock injectors, while still offering the ability to take full advantage of increased airflow with injector sizes up to 175/30 or 190/30. Designed for drivers looking to push performance further, this turbo delivers strong top-end power without sacrificing towing capability. When operated within proper RPM ranges and with exhaust gas temperatures monitored, the Jetfire turbo can tow maximum loads with confidence and consistency.

Performance Characteristics

This turbo is ideal for those who want aggressive performance with real-world usability. It produces a very loud, signature whistle and maintains reliable performance under load, making it a solid choice for both work and performance applications.

Tuning and Fitment Notes

Additionally, 50-state legal Edge or SCT tuning is recommended to ensure optimal performance and drivability. Polished compressor covers are available with a 1–2 week lead time.

Important Fitment Note:
KC builds all Stage 2 turbos from 2003 cores, which include the better turbine wheel and improved vanes. As a result, these turbos will bolt onto any model year. However, some years will use only two mounting bolts instead of three.

Exhaust Brake Compatibility

OEM-style exhaust braking functionality can be retained if the vehicle’s calibration supports it. However, some aftermarket exhaust brake designs use flapper-style mechanisms that create excessive back pressure. These systems may interfere with turbo operation, reduce performance, or cause component damage, and are not recommended.
