Compound Turbo Kit for 2003-2007 5.9L Cummins

The Industrial Injection Quick Spool Compound Turbo Kit 227456 is designed for 2003-2007 Dodge Ram trucks equipped with the 5.9L Cummins diesel engine. Industrial Injection updated its original Quick Spool design with new piping, a new A/C line, and a new dipstick tube. As a result, installers no longer need to bend these factory lines during installation.

Industrial Injection designed this compound setup for drivers who want lower EGT without giving up drivability. Additionally, the matched turbochargers provide the airflow needed to support serious performance builds.

Quick Spool Compound Turbo Performance

This system pairs an Industrial Injection PhatShaft 62/65/12 manifold turbo with a 75/96/1.32 atmosphere turbo. Together, the two turbochargers create the compound arrangement while supporting improved airflow and lower exhaust gas temperatures.

Additionally, Industrial Injection rates the system for up to 850 horsepower with the required fueling upgrades. Therefore, the kit provides room for high-horsepower Cummins builds while maintaining the Quick Spool design.

Redesigned for Easier Installation

Industrial Injection redesigned the piping system to improve fit and make installation easier. More importantly, the kit includes a new A/C line and dipstick tube. Therefore, installers do not need to bend the existing lines and risk damaging them during the turbo installation.

The hot pipe receives a ceramic coating and heat wrap. Meanwhile, Industrial Injection finishes the cold pipes and compressor housings with a high-gloss black powder coat. The kit also includes a firewall heat shield for added protection.

High-Flow 5-Inch Intake

The compound turbo system includes a high-flow 5-inch intake with an S&B oiled filter. As a result, the intake works with the larger turbo system to provide the airflow needed for the compound setup.

Industrial Injection also improved the flow characteristics when updating this version of the Quick Spool kit. Therefore, the complete package combines the matched turbochargers, intake, piping, and installation components into one system.

Important Exhaust Manifold Fitment

This compound turbo kit works only with the OEM 3rd Gen 5.9L exhaust manifold or BD Diesel exhaust manifold 1045987. Industrial Injection states that Steed Speed, AFE, and Dorman exhaust manifolds will not work with this kit.

Additionally, Industrial Injection suggests upgrading to a two-piece exhaust manifold. However, the kit may not work with aftermarket coolant bypass kits. Therefore, verify your truck’s existing components before ordering.
