Edge EvoHT2 L5P Duramax Handheld Tuner
The Edge EvoHT2 handheld tuner provides an easy and affordable way to add performance tuning to 2017–2023 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks equipped with the 6.6L L5P Duramax. This handheld device flashes the factory ECM with preloaded tuning calibrations designed for towing, daily driving, fuel economy, and performance. As a result, drivers gain stronger throttle response, improved drivability, and increased towing capability.
The EvoHT2 works with the Edge Locksmith tool, which is included with the kit. The Locksmith unlocks the factory ECM and TCM through the OBDII port. Once unlocked, the EvoHT2 allows drivers to install performance calibrations directly into the truck. After the flash process is complete, the device can be unplugged and stored away.
Power Gains and Tuning Levels
The Edge EvoHT2 L5P Duramax tuner offers multiple tuning levels designed for different driving conditions. These calibrations improve power delivery and help optimize engine performance.
Heavy Trailer tune provides up to 75 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque
Economy tune provides up to 100 horsepower and 200 lb-ft of torque
Light Trailer tune provides up to 125 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque
Extreme tune provides up to 150 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque
These gains improve acceleration, towing power, and overall drivability. In testing, trucks equipped with the EvoHT2 have shown improved quarter-mile performance and faster acceleration under load.
Additional Features and Vehicle Controls
The Edge EvoHT2 handheld tuner also includes several useful vehicle adjustments and controls. Drivers can recalibrate the speedometer for tire sizes between 26 and 38 inches. The system also allows adjustment of the Idle Up feature from 600 to 1800 RPM.
Drivers can also use the Throttle Boost feature to increase pedal sensitivity. This adjustment can improve throttle response by 5–50 percent over stock settings.
Additional features include TPMS setting adjustments, Allison transmission relearn capability, and manual DPF regeneration control. These tools provide greater control over vehicle performance and maintenance.
Diagnostics and Compatibility
The EvoHT2 also works as a diagnostic tool. Drivers can read and clear diagnostic trouble codes directly from the device. As a result, drivers can identify issues quickly without visiting a repair shop.
This handheld tuner works with 2017–2023 L5P Duramax trucks. A PC with the Edge Update Agent software is required to complete the tuning process.
The device can unlock and tune only one vehicle. Once the ECM and TCM unlock process occurs, the device becomes locked to that VIN. Although drivers can return the truck to the factory calibration, the unlock process cannot be reversed.
The calibrations are designed to maintain factory emissions equipment and support DPF operation. However, the tuner does not support the removal of emissions equipment.
