Transmission Build Overview
The A1 Stage 3 RAM 68RFE transmission supports applications producing 1,000 horsepower or more. It delivers extreme performance, durability, and long-term reliability in high-demand use. This Stage 3 build handles heavy loads, high torque, and aggressive driving. At the same time, it maintains consistent and dependable operation.
Clutches, Hydraulics, and Valve Body Upgrades
At the core of this build, A1 installs BorgWarner clutches and steels paired with Torq kit friction components. Upgraded hydraulics and a fully reworked valve body with oversized valves improve fluid control and shift consistency.
In addition, technicians ream the pump for updated hydraulics and machine it for a new pump bushing. This process ensures proper pressure and long-term durability under load.
Internal Reinforcement and Hard Parts
Additional strength comes from welded planetary pins, a Sonnax billet UD/OD drum, billet accumulator cups with cover, and a billet spin-on filter adapter. These components improve internal durability and enhance serviceability.
The transmission also includes a TCS billet input shaft and a billet triple disc torque converter. Together, these components deliver superior torque transfer and holding power.
Supporting Components and Final Assembly
Supporting upgrades include a Goerend billet channel plate, Goerend billet flexplate, deep cast aluminum pan, SRD low roller, and a thermo delete block. A1 completes the build using all-new gaskets, seals, o-rings, molded pistons, and a new OE solenoid pack. These components ensure maximum reliability and consistent operation.

This Warranty Does NOT Cover Failures Resulting From Abuse or misuse Labor Coverage For Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3 builds, if a failure occurs within the first year, A1 Transmission will cover 100% of labor costs only if the unit is returned to our facility. For shipped or out-of-state units, A1 Transmission will contribute up to $500 toward shipping fees. Vehicle transport or tow truck services are not covered.
