The Keating Machine 12 Valve Billet Timing Front Cover without –12AN port upgrades 1989–1993 Cummins 5.9L 12-valve engines used in first-generation applications. Keating machines this cover from high-quality billet aluminum to replace the factory stamped steel cover with a stronger and more precise component built for long-term reliability.
This no-port configuration includes a sealed P-pump cover plate and does not use a –12AN fitting. As a result, it works well for builds that retain factory-style crankcase routing or do not require additional ventilation ports. The clean design also suits restorations and stock-appearing engine bays.
The billet cover maintains compatibility with the OEM gear housing, RPM sensor pickup, factory fan assembly, crankshaft dampener, and belt drive system. Precision machining ensures proper alignment while reducing the flex and distortion common with factory covers during heat cycles and extended use.
Keating includes stainless steel mounting hardware to resist corrosion and support long-term serviceability. A crank seal adapter ring is also included to support proper sealing, with the crank seal sold separately. The kit also includes a block-off plate for applications not using a Waterman-style mechanical fuel pump.
This billet timing front cover installs as a direct bolt-on replacement and delivers improved strength, consistent sealing, and a refined appearance for first-generation Cummins builds.
