Transmission Build Overview
The A1 Stage 3 10L1000 transmission supports up to 800+ horsepower and delivers consistent performance in demanding applications. This Stage 3 build handles increased torque, heavy loads, and aggressive driving while maintaining smooth and reliable operation.
Internal Components and Clutch Upgrades
A1 builds this transmission using a complete GM overhaul kit combined with an Alto bushing kit and Raybestos or BorgWarner bushings throughout the unit. A Raybestos steel module improves clutch durability under load. The clutch packs use custom steels and added friction material where required.
The A clutch adds one additional friction and steel. The B clutch uses a custom apply plate. In addition, the E and F clutches receive custom steels, extra frictions, and upgraded components. These upgrades include a custom machined E-clutch hub and a custom pressure plate to increase holding power.
Hydraulics and Power Transfer
A1 fully rebuilds the pump using Sonnax vanes to improve hydraulic efficiency and long-term reliability. Technicians also rebuild the valve body with all-new electronics, a Ratiotek kit, and Sonnax solenoid stabilizer clips. This setup delivers precise shifting and consistent pressure control.
A Goerend billet triple disc torque converter improves power transfer and torque handling under load.

Warranty Coverage Stage 1 Diesel/Lightning Builds: Stage 2 Diesel/Lightning Builds: Stage 3 Diesel/Lightning Builds: This Limited Warranty Covers Repair or replacement, at our discretion, of any defective components. This warranty is intended to protect both the customer and A1 Transmission of GA Inc. from manufacturing-related defects. This Warranty Does NOT Cover Failures Resulting From Abuse or misuse Labor Coverage For Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3 builds, if a failure occurs within the first year, A1 Transmission will cover 100% of labor costs only if the unit is returned to our facility. For shipped or out-of-state units, A1 Transmission will contribute up to $500 toward shipping fees. Vehicle transport or tow truck services are not covered. Second and Third Year Coverage (Stage 1 & Stage 2 only): Important Notes Broken shafts, drums, or other hard parts are not covered under any circumstance.
