The Keating Machine 12 Valve Billet Timing Front Cover (Black Anodized, No 12AN Port) is a premium replacement for 1994–2002 Cummins 5.9L 12-valve engines using the later timing cover pattern. This billet cover upgrades the factory stamped-steel unit with improved strength, sealing reliability, and long-term durability for both performance and daily-driven applications.

Keating Machine CNC-machines this cover from solid billet aluminum, then finishes it in a deep black anodizing to resist corrosion and wear. As a result, the cover maintains proper gear alignment under heat and load while eliminating the flex and sealing issues commonly associated with OEM covers.

Construction & Finish

This configuration uses black anodized cover plates, creating a fully uniform, high-end appearance across the entire front cover assembly. The consistent finish makes it an excellent choice for clean engine bays, restorations, or understated performance builds.

Additionally, the billet construction delivers superior rigidity compared to factory steel, which helps preserve timing accuracy and sealing integrity over time.

Non-Ported Configuration

Unlike versions equipped with a –12AN fitting, this model uses a solid P-pump cover plate with no ventilation port. This design works well for engines retaining OEM-style crankcase ventilation or routing ventilation elsewhere in the system.

Because of this, the cover suits daily drivers, mild performance builds, and applications where external crankcase routing is not required.

Fitment & Compatibility

The timing cover retains compatibility with essential OEM components, including the factory RPM sensor, gear housing, crankshaft dampener, belt drive system, and mechanical fan assembly. It also supports aftermarket mechanical fuel supply pumps such as Waterman-style units.

Keating Machine includes stainless steel mounting hardware along with a block-off plate for unused pump locations. A crank seal is required for installation and is sold separately.
