Transmission Build Overview

The A1 Stage 3 10R80 transmission is rated for up to 1,000 horsepower. It is engineered for extreme durability, precise shifting, and long-term reliability in high-performance and heavy-duty applications. This Stage 3 upgrade withstands high torque, increased heat, and demanding driving conditions while maintaining smooth and consistent operation.

Internal Components and Clutch Upgrades

This transmission uses Raybestos GPZ or BorgWarner friction materials paired with a heavy-duty Raybestos steel module. These components provide superior heat resistance and strength. In addition, a complete overhaul kit with molded pistons improves sealing and overall efficiency.

A new Ford valve body equipped with a Ratio Tek kit and Sonnax solenoid stabilizer clips ensures accurate fluid control. This setup also supports consistent and repeatable shift performance.

Further upgrades include a new CDF drum along with reinforced A+C clutch hub and barrel components. The build features comprehensive clutch enhancements across the A, B, C, D, E, and F packs. These upgrades use custom steels, added friction material, and machined components to support increased load capacity.

Cooling and Power Transfer

To support cooling and long-term longevity, the Stage 3 build includes a PPE oversized transmission pan. This pan increases overall fluid capacity. Additionally, a custom high-torque converter improves engagement and power transfer under demanding conditions.

High-quality paper and rubber gaskets complete the assembly. These components ensure a secure and leak-free build.

Warranty Coverage Stage 1 Diesel/Lightning Builds: 3-Year / Unlimited Mileage Stage 2 Diesel/Lightning Builds: 2-Year / Unlimited Mileage Stage 3 Diesel/Lightning Builds: 1-Year / 18,000 Miles This Limited Warranty Covers Repair or replacement, at our discretion, of any defective components. This warranty is intended to protect both the customer and A1 Transmission of GA Inc. from manufacturing-related defects. This Warranty Does NOT Cover Failures Resulting From Abuse or misuse Low fluid levels Parts breakage Improper tuning Incorrect installation Failure to flush or replace the transmission cooler and related components Undersized transmission lines or inadequate cooler systems Addition of inline aftermarket filter systems that may cause fluid restriction Labor Coverage For Stage 1, Stage 2, and Stage 3 builds, if a failure occurs within the first year, A1 Transmission will cover 100% of labor costs only if the unit is returned to our facility. For shipped or out-of-state units, A1 Transmission will contribute up to $500 toward shipping fees. Vehicle transport or tow truck services are not covered. Second and Third Year Coverage (Stage 1 & Stage 2 only): A1 Transmission will cover 100% of labor for in-house repairs. The cost of parts during this period is the customer’s responsibility. No shipping or transport fees will be covered beyond the first year. Important Notes Broken shafts, drums, or other hard parts are not covered under any circumstance. High horsepower or high torque applications may exceed the physical limitations of internal components. This warranty is non-transferable. The most common causes of warranty denial include improper installation and failure to flush or replace the transmission cooler.
