In high torque applications, bolts between the torque converter and flex plate can slip. BD’s 12-bolt flexplate, featuring Diamond Bite Shims, doubles the clamping load to prevent this issue and can handle up to 3500 lb-ft of torque. To fully utilize all 12 bolts, the matching 12-bolt Hi5 torque converter is required, though standard 6-bolt converters can still be used with only 6 bolts.
